How does the Orbit Reader 20 Plus solve the problems with Braille?
For English Braille, it lets the reader choose between Grade 1 and Grade 2. Grade 2 was developed in part to reduce the space required to print Braille, but since everything is displayed on this electronic reader, space is not a concern. The student can choose to read in Grade 1 Braille and will not have to worry about contractions.
The Orbit Reader 20 Plus has a built-in Braille translator. Many languages are already available within the Orbit reader, and additional languages can be programmed by a facilitator.
Its compact size means that the reader can carry entire libraries in the palm of his hand, just like a sighted person can with their phones or tablets.
Our goal is to put an Orbit Reader in the hand of every blind and deafblind student who goes through the ABC program. If you would like to provide a student with an Orbit Reader, click here.
